XBundle – Who we are and what we do?

XBundle is a lawyer led team of in house litigation support experts, with decades of legal and practical experience between us. The team comprises of Mark Agombar, Rachel Forsythe, Dr Nick Sharples, Mared Jones and Katie Shirra. We provide critical eDisclosure and other logistical support not just to the department, but also Competition, Employment, Private Client and Risk. Our involvement spans all litigation stages, from initial data scoping and collection to disclosure review and production, and the creation of electronic bundles and the presentation of evidence at trial. We also take a keen interest in cutting edge litigation technology including generative and other AI, predictive coding and other sophisticated algorithmic tools.

Cases supported by the XBundle include the following.

Project Lignite – In this highly contentious LCIA arbitration, disclosure was a critical battleground. Faced with over 4.5 million documents, we took charge of the entire disclosure and review process using Everlaw, and leveraging predictive coding we efficiently narrowed the dataset to a reviewable scope. Additionally, our team offered expert guidance on disclosure challenges raised by the opposing party, such as retrieving data from corrupted mobile devices.  We also addressed and rectified technical deficiencies in disclosure submissions from other involved parties, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

Goyal v BGF Investment Management – This hugely important matter for an important client, BGF demonstrates the ‘cradle to grave’ support we provide.  We worked with Employment in responding to the DSAR submitted by the claimant as a precursor to the litigation, project managed the data collection, review and production of the Commercial Court disclosure and produced electronic trial bundles. Finally, the XBundle team supported the 20+ day trial with electronic presentation of evidence (EPE) and daily trial transcripts. For a detailed analysis of our contributions to this case, please refer to the accompanying article.

Project X – Forensic Data Collection: Dealing with an urgent and technically demanding on site collection of WhatsApp and text messages from 15 iPhones for a high-profile corporate client.

Project P – FCA Investigation: Project managing disclosure to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) using the Relativity platform, which we offer in addition to Everlaw, for a global financial services client.

Project Quarter – Tax Litigation: A case involving a complex review for disclosure to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the production of customised electronic bundles for client review.
